Golden-brown. Toasty, chocolatey, with a floral hoppiness. Body comes up quite empty, though. Toasty, woody notes but not much of that good stuff the aroma promised.

Amber color. Nice aroma of caramel and good hop. Malty, round, with caramel taste and good hopping.

(12/10/05, 12oz bottle, bottled on 11/21/05, ABV = 6%) Small beige head topping a clear nut-brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, spruce, some pistachio, faint anise, nutmeg -- strange combination. Taste is medium sweet, pine, some caramel, light vegetal. Light-medium body. Definitely seems different from the last time I tried it, and not for the better. (5/3/6/3/11)

(12/6/03, 12oz bottle): Clear garnet body with small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, spiced, grapefruit, light floral. Taste is medium sweet, spiced, grapefruit/floral. Medium body. (6/4/7/4/14)

On tap (12/10/03). Poured a dark Amber color with a very small tan head. Slight hoppy taste. Not a bad beer but I prefer their ESB.

Sparkling clear, burnt orange/ruby ale. Cheap aftershave and vineous notes within the nose and flavor along with toffee and leathery, citrusy and evergreen hops. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, thin, lightly bitter finish.

Bottled, lame is a word that springs to mind. Very dissapointing for a supposed winter ale. Light choc, caramel, little hops noticable, grainy and thin, no bitterness, cola like texture.

(Draught) Pours a copper color with a thin white head. Descent tasting beer with a nice clean palate.
