Oakes (7047), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jan 5, 2001 Updated: Dec 1, 2003Golden-brown. Toasty, chocolatey, with a floral hoppiness. Body comes up quite empty, though. Toasty, woody notes but not much of that good stuff the aroma promised. argo0 (6335), Washington DC, USA Dec 6, 2003 Updated: Dec 10, 2005(12/10/05, 12oz bottle, bottled on 11/21/05, ABV = 6%) Small beige head topping a clear nut-brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, spruce, some pistachio, faint anise, nutmeg -- strange combination. Taste is medium sweet, pine, some caramel, light vegetal. Light-medium body. Definitely seems different from the last time I tried it, and not for the better. (5/3/6/3/11)

fiulijn (6180), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jul 5, 2007 Amber color. Nice aroma of caramel and good hop. Malty, round, with caramel taste and good hopping. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England May 20, 2004 Bottled, lame is a word that springs to mind. Very dissapointing for a supposed winter ale. Light choc, caramel, little hops noticable, grainy and thin, no bitterness, cola like texture.
