keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA Feb 6, 2008 I haven’t met an ESA I didn’t like, and this one was no exception. Full flavored and wonderfully bittered with hops, Winter Hook went down like candy on a Wisconsin night that has seen a whole lot of snow. I miss the clear orange/red hue of Winter Hook in my glass already. I love winter beers.
MaltDawg (376), Richmond, Virginia, USA Nov 29, 2008 Date: 11/14/2008 Source:12 oz botle from Food Lion Grassy floral hop nose. Amber brown clear with small white head. Grassy floral hops over carmelized malt sweetness. Somewhere between a IPA and Pale Ale character. Clean mostly dry finish with touch of residual bitterness. Not bad but nothing really outstanding. SuperDave70 (929), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Nov 29, 2008 Red-brown pour with a fizzy head that’s gone quickly. Aroma and flavor of roasted caramel malt, spice, and a touch of grapefruity hops. Not bad. lithy (385), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 28, 2008 Copper red, clear body with a thin whitish head that is gone instantly. Spicy winter warmer type aroma, cinnamon, big malty backbone. Solid body, taste is big spices with a solid sweet malt body cinnamon, nutmeg, light caramel, toffee. cbeers21 (456), Miami, Florida, USA Nov 28, 2008 On tap @ brewery. Deep reddish brown pour, decent head. Peaty gritty vibe, and a lightly toasted body. Good balance with a bittering hop presence. Solid. joebudzjoe (121), Connecticut, USA Nov 27, 2008 Tap @ Tigin, Stamford, CT. Very earthy aroma and flavor with hop and mellow roasty malts. A little syrupy palate. Not bad.
