Medium body featuring orange zest, tasty malt, and that subtle pine hop note. A crisp and refreshing beer. Amazingly I found a gas station cooler that sells bottles for 99 cents.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Clear and dark brown in the glass, with a fully diminishing head. Nutty aromas, like honey cashew. Toast. Peach jam. More complex than I expected, but a thin palate. Toasted flavors, nutty, and a one-dimensional hop that adds a little pine and citrus, but not much. topherh (940), Kearney, Missouri, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 15, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a clear, brown-mahogany colored body with an inch thick, creamy, light brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a good amount of sticky lacing. Aroma isn’t extreme, but it has a nice mixture of things. Toasty caramels, dried fruits, roasts, sweet and flowery hops with a bit of an orange peel citrus, and nuts. Flavor has some fruity, toasted caramels up front with a nice, lightly spiced piney hoppiness. The hoppiness continues with some citrus, roasts, and nutty malts before this finishes with a nice blend of moderately bittered hops, roasts, and a hint of citrusy caramels. Dry with a moderate aftertaste after a medium body and carbonation. Overall, a fairly enjoyable winter ale. Rich and full tasting with a pleasant malt, roast, and hop blend.
