Commercial Description:
Hefeweizen is a German style of wheat beer – light and cloudy with banana and clove aromas. Redoak’s Blackberry Hefeweizen is a unique blend of this beer with premium fruit. Fresh blackberries are handpicked exclusively by Blueberry Hills Farm in Victoria’s Yarra Valley Region. The beer is allowed to condition and mature on the finest of this fruit to infuse their flavours and aroma. Savour the distinctive tartness of blackberries balanced by the malty sweetness of Redoak’s Hefeweizen

Bottle (250ml). Poured bloody strawberry with a slight haze and a large, fluffy/rocky, violet head which lasted very well. Aroma was of tart blackberries with blackcurrant concentrate (Ribena), marzipan (mild) and some sour yeasty malts hiding beneath. Flavor was amazingly refreshing with sour blackberries, tart cranberries, zesty lemon juice and some light notes of yeast. Light bodied with lively carbonation, a dry/tart mouthfeel and a good finish.

Bottle. Reddy pink with light pink head. Subtle fruity aroma. Very lively carbonation. The taste was disappointing, it was all fruit and tartness with little else to balance it. It’s a refreshing and interesting fruit beer, but it didn’t work for me.

An unclear pinkish red beer with a fluffy pink head. The aroma is artificially sweet with notes of wheat, while the flavor is sweet with notes of berries - especially black berries. It is very carbonated in the mouth. Thanks Papsoe for sharing this seldom beer.

(Bottle 25 cl) Pours a slightly hazy pink with a small, pinkish head. Fresh, dry, fruity aroma - berry like. A bit too heavily carbonated. Fairly light body with distinct notes of blackberries. A dry finish. Quite refreshing but suffers from the heavy carbonation. Thanks to Carina & Pia for the import. 280906
