Betty (232), Walgett, NSW, Australia Oct 20, 2004 Needed a decent beer before I went up to the Labor Party offices and when I got there I still needed one. This Bock was pretty forgettable; I liked their Vienna better. I guess this is second best of what I’ve had though. Head disappeared, texture was syrupy even though the guy bragged that all their beers are "full mash": BIG DEAL! Plain and unobtrusive.
gam (679), brisbane, Australia May 11, 2008 Thick frothy head on a red/brown pour good carbonation.Aroma, hint cramel, roast flavour, very nice hops, fruit and melon tastes,a good lager for a cool night, finish dry and melon taste. Muggus69 (293), Sydney, Australia Jul 31, 2007 330ml botte from local bottlo. A sort of odd woody chocolate and red wine like aroma. Pours a headless ruby-brown body. Mouth is suprisingly full and creamy, despite appearences. Rich malts dominate the flavour, roasted, burnt, almost even a charcol like smokiness at times. Slightly berry fruit finish with a subtle lingering dry bitterness. Seems like the kind of beer you could sit back and sip at for ages; too tasty though!
Spiesy (2333), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Mar 4, 2007 Bottled, whilst in Sydney, Aus. Bright, chessnut body. Medium head. Tainted malt and boiled veg flavour. It’s fair to say that my first beer from Redoak was not that great. Will need to get down to the brew pub in the city. bridge (659), Sydney, Australia Dec 14, 2006 (Bottle) Clear mahogany brown with a medium sized head that was around for a little while. Smells deliciously of roasted malts, sort of meaty, but a really lovely malty aroma. Flavour is a bit salty, helping it taste a bit like a roast with gravy. Chewy palate and a medium to full body. This is a very tasty beer, and better than I remember it being when I had it on tap. Makes me want to head back down to the the brew-pub. motelpogo (4360), Plzen, Czech Republic May 5, 2006 on tap at redoak. ruby colour with a decently frothy, white head. definitely some strawberry jam in the aroma. flavour reminded me of rhubarb and custard (the dessert, not the tv show) with a slight earthiness that hinted at boiled vegies. not much german stuff happening but it was ok anyway
