Beershine (1059), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 11, 2008 Bottle, special procurement. Dark amber. Small white head. Aromas of tropical fruit, including lots of pineapple. Body is far more woodsy, with a nice lingering but clean finish.
Oakes (6776), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 11, 2008 Hazy amber colour. Piney, minty, grapefruity hop nose. Moderate bitterness is herbal and earthy. Dry, woody finish. There’s balancing caramel throughout. A well-structured, highly drinkable brew. TimE (1006), Tokyo, Japan Jun 8, 2008 Dark amber color. Citrus. strawberries, raspberries and pale malt all dominate the nose. Well balanced. Citrus and raspberry jam with a touch of caramel on the mouth. Moderately bitter finish. MBison (332), Southern Highlands, Australia Jan 10, 2008 Draught at the Redoak 6.5%. Let this one warm up for a good 20 min prior to drinking. Arrived a hazy amber with bronze highlights and a creamy white head which was mostly diminishing. Aroma was of grassy hops, passionfruit, grapefruit, caramel and notes of pine needles in the back. Taste was a firm hoppy bitterness with some grassy notes, passion fruit, orange citrus and some resin notes in the finish. Medium bodied with a dry texture, soft carbonation, and a good finish. Despite other ratings this IPA needed more hops. Pyobon (125), Sydney, Australia Dec 14, 2007 Tap at Redoak. Looks fine - nice colour and head. Nice hoppy aroma and good palate. A little too bitter for the my taste and I think for the style. But a nice beer and it is good to find a beer in Australia with this style and bravado.
