Commercial Description:
This is our first mead released in July 2001. To-date we receive more requests and attention for Black Raspberry Nectar then for any other one of our meads! With the mouth feel and texture of beer and the light taste of a lower alcohol mead this beverage is the very definition of "refreshing".

bottle - Pours reddish-pink with light carbonation. The honey and raspberry aroma is fairly mild. The flavor is mostly of tart raspberry. Smooth and easy drinking, it was refreshing and enjoyable enough.

Flip-top bottle. Transparent, minimal carbonation and a hot red hue. Sweet, honey, black raspberry, tart, and somewhat tangy nose. Flavor was sweet, tart, black raspberry, and some honey. Smooth mouthfeel and light body. A so-so mead, but there are definitely much better ones to be had.

On tap at Eugene City Brewery. What a mead! This was simply amazing. I loved the flavor, the way it unfolded so elegantly on my tongue. Very strong honey taste with the raspberry taste definatley present among a gorgeous palate. It sips nicely. The palate is splendid. This mead filled my mouth with joyous textures and a delightful beer-like body. Amazing. The aroma was nothing too great, still, it kept me drinking. The appearance is shocking. It looks beautiful. Try this one out, you might like it. I am definatley a fan.

Bottle. Pours dark reddish pink with falling legs. The aroma is lightly fruity with a few floral honey notes. The flavor is initially sharp, tart raspberry. Plenty of acidity keeps the honey sweetness at bay. The finish is dry and fruity. I’m impressed with the balance in this one.

Tap @ O’Briens Dark ruby in color. Sweet berries flavor with a bit of tartness. Finish is somewhat tart that ends with a lingering sweetness.

Sparkling mead, bottle, nice mead! NOT BEER. LEARN THAT AND STOP CALLING IT BEER. I mean it’s not even close... this was made with two kinds of honey, and blackraspberries. Not as rich or dark as is usually pictured. It was light pink, with a small sweet bright raspberry flavor, and finishes with nice smooth honey wine flavor. Carbonated, so in my opinion not as good as still. Still very nice. I prefer this to sparkling wines.

Tasted on tap at the 2006 Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest. This mead pours a light raspberry color. Small head. Aroma is raspberry, fruity and sweet some honey. A light to medium bodied mead. Lots of raspberry and fruit flavors. Semi sweet raspberries with some honey flavor. Very easy drinking mead. A little sticky tasting, but that is kind of expected. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

strong ale fest 06 at pizza port: my first mead, so maybe this rating is biased. it tasted just as i thought a mead would taste like. lots of honey and raspberry and very thin but sticky mouthfeel.
