Color is a clear pinkish red with no head. Flavor - carbonation is pretty prominent, but afterwards, sweetness with slight fruitiness. Very smooth. Overall, an easy drinking mead, but there’s no honey flavor, no evidence of alcohol, no warming. A little too doctored for my taste. BuckeyeBoy (1669), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 28, 2006 On tap at Papago: Nice fresh blackberry aroma, lightly tart though it’s definitely far from a lambic sour/tart scent, along with some hints of clover/flowers. The taste is actually quite a bit less sweet than I expected - the sparkling carbonation probably helps to keep this down. Blackberry flavors are well integrated within the mead, showing themselves as the highlight but not completely taking over. Light sugar and honey hit the palate later, then finishes with some interesting earthy/wax/honey notes that seem somewhat dry and provide a nice contrast to the mild sweetness inherant in the flavor. This is definitely not too sweet, and much less so than many other meads I’ve tasted. Light-medium bodied, lively carbonated, lightly sticky, though the carbonation really makes this one quick drinkable. WeeHeavySD (2980), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 25, 2006 On Tap. Sampled at the 2006 San Diego Festival of Beers 9/22/06. Deep purple color with no head. The aroma was quite sweet and the taste was incredibly fruity. It is extremely drinkable, its good I wasn’t driving because it tastes like the abv should be 2.5% if that. Bockyhorsey (2528), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2006 Wife asked for a sample of this while at Papago. Due to alochol content she only took a sip. Had a great blackberry aroma. Flavors of blackberry and sugar sweetness. Somewhat tart and a sticky fruit aftertaste on palate. BigBastard (668), L.A., California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 12, 2006 Smelled like a berry soda, or candy. Flavor was very sweet, like a wine cooler, without the fizz. Very fruity, but too sweet and syrupy. ABV noticed as it warmed. TheBeerGod (3157), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 13, 2006 Updated: Aug 18, 2006Bottle. Pours a still ruby red. Only a fleeting bubble or two on the surface. Nose is berry-ish but not really overpowering and doesn’t have much honey aroma either. The taste is a soft honey mead with raspberry preserves added. That’s the easiest way for me to describe it. Body is light and dry towards the end. Very slick feel as well. Finishes with more berry notes, light honey-ish flavors and mild alcohol. Overall, it’s not too sweet or honey flavored. There’s some soft berry notes, but otherwise it’s kind of tame. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA
