Tasted at the fifth annual Colorado Wine Tasting Festival in Manitou Springs, CO. Ah, finally a Restone mead without carbonation. As I expected, the palate improved greatly from the lack of carbonation. Wood and juniper nose with a similar body.

Honey, spicy aroma. Pours blonde, white wine-esk. Juniper berries come through nicely, mixed honey sweetness, kind of spicy. Very interesting.

The second mead I had from this meadery. Pours a light yellow. Smells of honey and bread. The taste is pretty cool. You get the honey up front and I guess the juniper is what I’m tasting too. I thought this mead was kind of doughy or something, but still pretty good. Get a little unusual spices too. Pretty cool.

The first still mead I’ve had from these guys. It’s a pale gold. Good balance of flavors, although I’m not sure I would have known this was flavored with anything had it not said so on the label.

Quite a nice surprise, not too sweet, not too dry. Its got a simple mixture of Honey, wood and berries. Make sure you give it a try.

The aroma has honey, juniper, alcohol, and juicy fruit gum. The appearance is yellow and lightly milky and flat with no carbonation or head. The flavor is like the aroma yet this is not super sweet and not super dry but somewhere in the middle. The palate is thin. This is OK but I am not in love.

At the 2007 Big Beer, Belgians, & Barleywines Festival in Vail. Looks like the traditional mead, pale yellow, still, no head. But, somehow, I thought that the juniper did not work as well in this as their regular mead. It did have a orange flower water type of aroma that was nice.
