mj (4975), Colorado, USA Apr 22, 2009 Tastes and smell pretty like you’d expect - honey, vanilla, cinnamon, fresh apple cider, that sort of thing. Body is thin to medium, somewhat oily. Interesting try but not something I would rave about. ajm (902), Los Angeles, California, USA Oct 27, 2008 500 ml from the brewery. Very nice aroma - drier than the fruit-based meads with a warming spice. In addition to the labeled items, nutmeg also comes out. Tastes like it smells with a definite white wine texture. Shared with two friends in Tommy Lindsey’s living room. A relaxing treat. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 26, 2008 A light golden mead. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of honey combined with medium notes of wood and a spicy note of cinnamon. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of vanilla and cinnamon as well as honey - like a pumpkin pie - a bit too much for me. Beerlando (2284), Orlando, Florida, USA Jun 8, 2008 Pours a lightly hazy, medium golden color with a still body. The body appears to be a little thin for a mead, with legging showing as quite runny. The aroma shows intense notes of stale cinnamon, honey, and artificial vanilla extract. Flavors, too, feel manufactured and forced, as if copious amounts of cinnamon and vanilla were carelessly dumped into an average-at-best mead, without regard to subtlety or restrain. The mouthfeel is thin for a mead, furthering this one along the downward spiral. This is a borderline offensive drink, and not something I would even give a second chance. Borderline drain pour. obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Apr 23, 2008 Strong honey, vanilla, and cinnaom aroma, prefectly blended. Clear yellow color and thin. Nondescript slight chemical edge and apple tartness. Alcohol is noticeable. scraff (1921), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Apr 5, 2008 Medium gold with deep cinnamon and vanilla aromas. Soft wafts of honey bread emerge as it slowly opens up. Spicy cinnamon and warm vanilla bean flavors are well layered over semi-sweet honey notes from beginning to end. Lighter side of medium body, slick and smooth. A really cool blend of flavors here. Perfect for the holiday season... princesslala (37), North Carolina, USA Mar 14, 2008 This mead tastes like Christmas. It’s a hazy golden color. There is no carbonation. The aroma is of honey, pears, and cinammon. The taste reminds me of this korean after dinner drink--I can’t think of the name. The flavors they advertise are clearly present: vanilla, cinnamon, and honey, but there is also a distinct alcohol flavor and smell. The heat and warmth of the alcohol are what would make this a great drink in the winter, but it’s also what makes it something that I would not be able to have more than one glass of. At the same time it’s so distinct a taste experience I don’t think I’d really need to to satisfy this particular taste craving. For some strange reason it’s got me craving kimchi. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Jan 7, 2008 Clear amber. Big sweet honey aroma with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Hugely sweet in flavor with cloying vanilla/cinnamon flavors. If the sweetness was toned down I would like much better. I certainly am no expert on the style but this is not my bag.
