| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 22, 2007 The aroma has mostly sweet honey but there is also apricot and cinnamon present. The appearance is yellow clear with minor bubbling from carbonation. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall it’s kind of light for a mead but I like that. puzzl (2648), New York, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 30, 2007 On tap. I was surprised to see carbonation in this one. My first carbonated mead. Aroma was complex, sweet flowers and pumpkin pie spices. A little bit of that fearsome dirty diaper aroma that I get from more than a few meads, though. Flavor was very juicy, subtle and lovely sweetness, accented by light carbonation that really makes this drink glide across the palate. I think the bubbles really did this one well. Very enjoyable. Unfortunately I lost my tasting notes on it, so this is from memory. SledgeJr (2983), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 26, 2007 At the 2007 Big Beer, Belgians, & Barleywines Festival in Vail. Pours a pale white/yellow with no carbonation, no head. Lightly carbonated, but settles fast. I get a big apricot nose to this. The flavor seems like less apricot and more of the dry honey backbone of an attenuated mead. Very nice. beastiefan2k (1605), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2007 Got to love the flip-top 750 ml cobalt blue bottles. I guess that explains why Redstone can charge a bit more for these bottles. Pours a very light pale color into a small snifter. There are a few tiny bubbles sticking to the sides of the glass. Aroma is sweetness up front, a medium sweetness for mead I would say. Thats followed by an herbal aroma and a slight iso-type alcohol aspect. Taste loses a lot of the strong mead sweetness and has a subdued sweetness thats very enjoyable by a mead novice like me. After that there is some slight fruitiness. A pretty dry finish. Mouthfeel is present on the cheeks but easy on the tongue. I would say this is very quaffable without being light bodied. Tmoney99 (4790), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 5, 2007 Bottle at 50F. Poured clear pale color with good legs. Heavy dark honey aroma. Light to medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium raw honey sweet flavor with a rich tart finish of moderate duration. Pleasing sweet flavor. aarossell (151), Grandville, Michigan, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Dec 26, 2006 bottle, initial fizziness that dissipates quickly. I can’t enjoy a sparkling mead. It just destroys all tasty complexity. However this mead didn’t have much complexity to begin with. Watery, thin, pale, great smell, taste didn’t match. Light mead aroma, tastes like apricot wine with a finish of slight fermented honey. Not great. Not too bad though. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 5, 2006 Pours an extremely pale yellow and a short-lived fizziness. The apricot is not very forward in the aroma or flavor. There’s a light floral quality throughout. Easy drinking. Not bad at all.
