A light golden mead. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet with quite strong notes of oranges as well as honey - no wonder.

Bottle at 50F. Poured clear pale color with good legs. Heavy dark honey aroma. Light to medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium raw honey sweet flavor with a rich tart finish of moderate duration. Pleasing sweet flavor.

Pours hazy gold with big apricot and honey aroma. Tastes sweet, with apricot, peaches, huge honey, and a sweet finish with no carbonation. Not quite as good as the black raspberry, but still very good. College chicks would cream their jeans over these Redstone meads.....which gives me an idea....

Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is hazy light yellow. Aroma is notes of honey, insecticide, light notes of apple peel, flowers. Flavor is heavily sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation, lightly alcoholic. If you ever wondered what Raid with carbonation would taste like, well...this may be it. The similarity to insecticide in the aroma is truly unnerving. I think it must be tough to get clean alcohols from fermenting honey, as there are many others I’ve found in the US that have really nasty fusel (and otherwise) alcohol smells. So I’m not picking on Redstone here. But even aside from that, this is mostly like soda pop. Why reduce myself to trying carbonated meads? If not, why try anything?

5 oz draught sample at the Brew Kettle in Strongsville, OH (August 2006). Very, very clear, faintly yellow, no fizziness or head on my sample by the time it got to me....sweet, sweet honey and faint fruit oh and did I mention really really sweet honey in the one-dimensional nose....light carbonation on the tongue, moderately sweet, touch syrupy, no alcohol presence, little if any fruit noticed, drinkable but quite boring. Carbonated mead?

Bottle Shared at Ryan & Max’s Tasting @ Pauls. I wouldn’t have guessed this was a mead. Pours a slightly hued transparent water y body with a thin bubbly lacing. Pine sap and bark is all i get in the aroma. Malty cider with pine, and a hint of fruit, but i’m not sure what exactly. No honey, this was an odd ball.
