Lightly hazy brownish amber with a small, creamy, off-white head. Clear toffee and caramel aroma, rather sweet. Medium carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is light chocolate, some X-mas spices behind the sweet caramel base. Too sweet for me.
NosirIwont (943), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Dec 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear, golden amber with an off-white head. Weird aroma at first. Mild as such, but with a strong, nasty off-note which I can’t identify …horse blanket maybe, but in a bad way. Faint notes of baking yeast. As it warms the off-note resolves into a flowery, sort of hoppy note. But still not too good. Flavour has the same weird off-note, but here it feels a bit like malt mixed with liquorice of some sort. As it warms it becomes more spicy and flowery and with remote burnt notes. Further warming reveals malt and fruit notes. Feels watery. Spicy malty and hoppy finish. Slightly bitter. Notes of alcohol as it warms. Lingering apple notes. 30-12-08. Maria (4981), Thisted, Denmark Dec 29, 2008 It is dark brown with a huge, creamy head. The aroma is sweet and slightly perfumed with notes of malt and candy sugar. The flavour is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, syrup, candy sugar and light fruit. It is too sweet and a bit monotonous. Hansen (1871), Randers, Denmark Dec 24, 2008 Golden-brown colour and clear. Has an off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma: caramel, toffee, sweet. Flavor is sweet too. Syrup texture. An ok christmas-brew. stouby (1602), Holbaek, Denmark Dec 20, 2008 Bottle at home. Amber/red. Aroma moderate malty, caramel, light roasted, spicy. Flavor moderate to heavy sweet. Light body, watery. Really missing hops, but to sweet anyway. Bragesnak (1526), Aarhus, Denmark Dec 7, 2008 From Voldby, DK.
