austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Jul 17, 2005 Fantastic!! The aroma is sweet and beguiling. The 8.6% abv is extremely well-hidden, so much so that you’d think you were drinking 7% abv. Flavor is whoppingly malty with woody oak flavors imparted. Almost tree-ish in taste. Not much hop action, as expected. A real find! HansJM (358), Norway Feb 15, 2005 Reddish colour. Sweet nose. Big body. Starts sweet and a bit spicy. Reminds me of some other strong danish beers; Aargangsöl or maybe Carlsberg Master Brew. Very good. Mads Langtved (2246), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 11, 2004 Drank it directly from the bottle so I can’t comment on the appearance. But it had the original, typical sour taste og every refsvindinge beer. Normally this sourness can be a little sickening, but in this case it is a great combination to the strong, malty beer. Nice beer. Emil (6077), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 20, 2004 Red-brown color, light sweet caramel aroma and taste, medium body, light sweet finish. cphbeerking (153), København K, Denmark Jan 29, 2005 Wonderful sparkle on the tongue, excellent sourness and overall a right-on brew. I thoroughly enjoyed this outing from Refsvindinge, a lot more so than Ale No. 16 which I find to be generally overrated.
