33cl bottle @ Refsvindinge. As Juleøl Mørk hvidtøl. Pours nearly black with a beige head and lacings. Nose is caramel, bread and sugar. Quite inviting with caramel and chocolate upfront. Smooth and syrupy. Again chocolate and caramel with the sugar and syrupy feel in the back. Quite impressive. Best hvidtøl Ive had for sure!

33 cL bottle, comes as Refsvindinge Juleøl Mørk Hvidtøl. Pours dark and dense brown with a dense, slowly collapsing and chocolate brown head. Sweet brown suagr and notes of wet hay. Solid raisin notes following. Flavour is sweet and with mild raisin notes. Quite more fruity than malty flavour. Ends with a light sugarish feel and more sweet fruit.

Bottle. (2.4%)Pours a clear-looking black body with a small, brown head. In fact, it looks like a nice imperial stout, but the head diminishes rather quickly. The aroma is roasted at first, but soon an almost sickly sweetness occurs. Some sweet licorice and tar as well. Luckily the sweetness mellows a bit, making the aroma more balanced after a while. There’s some strange fruit-like aromas as well. As expected, it’s rather thin in the mouth, with sweetness dominating, but there’s also burnt malt, molasses, saltyness, licorice, a little citrus note, rye bread and a touch of hoppy bitterness. Long, sweetish and slightly roasted finish. Considering the ingredients list, the flavor and aroma is quite complex, and it is surely the best hvidtøl I’ve had. I think it’s the first I’ve drank a whole bottle of. Even though they are quite good at first, they’re usually too sweet and cloying to finish. (080402)

This wonder pours black with a brown head. It has a sweet malty and smoked aroma, and the flavour is of chocolate, smoke, roasted malts and a bit of bitter orange-like bitterness. I must confess: This is perhaps my favorite beer... *schhh*
