It has a sweet malty and smoked aroma, and the flavour is of chocolate, smoke, roasted malts and a bit of bitter orange-like bitterness. I must confess: This is perhaps my favorite beer... *schhh*

Very malty sweet flavour. Roasted malts as well. The palate is extremely thick. Overall a very rich low alcohol brew.
Unpasteurized (stakitøl): The best hvidtøl ever... Richer, creamier, more smoke Thure (143), Aalborg, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2007 Balck colour with a tan to brownish head. The aroma is sweet of malt with some smokyness to it. The taste is sweet smoky and with some hints of metallic. The palate is nice and soft. This is a very fine example of a "Hvidtøl" type beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Pitch black with a creamy, nougat head. the aroma has notes of roasted malt, sweetness, dark chocolate and some licorice - yummi!! The flavour has a pleasant sweetness, lots of slightly bitter, dark chocolate, licorice, rye bread and a slightly citrussy finish. It’s an incredibly nice hvidtøl, a style I enjoy from time to time, but this is beyond all doubt the best I ever tasted!! JensenTaster (1585), Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 2, 2006 (on bottle)Very greenish black, small, lasting head. Has a vague aroma of molasses, compared to the destintive dry, smoked taste. For such a sweet beerst7ylle, it took me a few sips to get the hang of what was going on, but I have chosen to belive that this actually is more correct in it´s flatness and smokieness, than the more sweet examples og hvidtøl. The only "ale-hvidøl" in Denmark, not too sweet and with notes of smoke, a lot of ingredients despite its low abv., great dark brown look and with a full body. Let me have more of this for my risengrød. Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 5, 2002 The least sweet "hvidtøl" i’ve tasted. Had the classic English Ale-bitterness. This beer is good for perople who wants "hvidtøl" but does’nt applause the sweetness. Looks like a porter esp. the head. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark

Nose of dark malt and corn with a roasted tone. Flavor is very sweet with lots of taste. Notes of brown sugar. A really good hvidtøl, definately the best available!
