imdownthepub (4312), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Aug 7, 2008 Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml from REAL Supermarket, Bamberg. Pale gold, carbonisation, short head. Disapointingly thin and lemonade like, really pronounced wet paper note with a touch of aspartame sweetness. Perhaps a slight hop note, with a malty bitterness. Not very good.
Quack-Duck (2207), Bodensee, Germany Dec 16, 2008 bottle. Clear, perhaps slightly hazy, golden-brown colour, mid-sized head. Malty-fruity nose, strangely reminding me of Kölsch. Malty with some aromatic hops and a top-fermenting touch. Despite the flavours of roasted malt and caramel this beer reminds me of Kölsch. Interesting and rather quaffable. BeerBiker (1235), Odense, Denmark Dec 13, 2008 [Bottle from Bamberg.] Good mainstream landbier which can be swallowed for hours. Caramel, straw, some bitterness and freshness. Maria (4981), Thisted, Denmark May 10, 2008 Light golden with an OK head. The aroma has notes of malt, straw and grass, but is rather weak. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of caramel malt, straw, grass and a light bitterness. Rather uncomplicated and very average. MoritzF (4046), Ruhrpott, Germany Feb 24, 2008 (bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a medium-sized blond foamy head. Sweet mmalty and flowery and fruity (citrus) hops aroma. Sweet flavour with a light but balancing bitterness, light bodied with a crispy carbonation. Soft malty, subtle fruity taste with a quite dry and moderately bitter finish with a pleasant hoppy blend. Enjoyable session beer (16.02.08).
