(500 ml bottle from <!-- A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/portland/ target=blank -->Downeast Beverage Co.<!-- /A -->) Pours a clear pale straw yellow with a white head. Aroma of honeyish malt. Mouthfeel kind of light and dry. Some weepy lacing. Tastes of very mild maltiness with a honeyish aftertaste.

Bottle: Quite boring, flat, thin body, very watery. Maybe on a very hot day as a thirst quencher.

Draught pint at redbones, somerville, ma. Pours a dark gold/yellow color with a small white fizzy head. Nose is corn, light grassy notes, some syrupy sugar notes. Palate is thick and sugary, non kolsch like. Flavors of honey, grass, sugars, corn.

Another purchase from Purvis Cellars in Melbourne. This must have been a relaively new sample bcause it poured well into the glass and looked quite like a clean, frash lager. he nose has a good hint of spicy hop and a lively look from a fine bead. The flavour also has that elegant spiciness that reminds me of the few good Kolsch beers I have tried . Fine balance between an estery ale and rounded, soft aged lager.

(0.5L Bottle) Overall an OK koelsch beer. A bit overcarbonated with the typical sweetness/lightness of the style. Pours yellow with foamy head. Refreshing, but nothing too special.

This is a good beer but at almost $4, it is hard to justify the price. For session drinking, it is smooth and easy to drink. Aroma has very light fruit and soil. Flavor is light malt with very light bitterness.

Bottle thanks to kevin. I am not an authority on Kolsch beers. Pours golden with a malty, crisp, pilsner like aromal. Sour and faint lemony flavor, with a some hops and fruitiness in the finish. A decent summer drinker.
