Light golden color with a good head. Too cloudy for this style. Medium bitterness, good malt flavor. Crip wih a lingering yeast flavor that might count for the cloudiness. A good crisp beer with a slight DMS issue might be over oxidized? RazingDreamz (123), North Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Oct 5, 2005 Golden color, good head, slightly malty aroma, understated hops, something very smooth and sweet going on, tasty hops, not too bitter. Enjoyable. highlandlad (1268), Sydney, Australia
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2005 A smooth, rounded kolsch with a dusty finish. Pale gold, short and short-lived raft of foam. The disappointing aroma shows plenty of grain, wet cardboard and some sour lemon drop candies. Lots of sweet citrus on the tongue and a nice soft mouthfeel. Carbonation verges on soda-like. Very clean and well integrated. Quite dry in the finish. I’d like to have tasted more fruit. Loses points for that coarse aroma.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 27, 2005 Kolsch is a light and refreshing style, and Reissdorf is no exception to the rule--though it’s aftertasts is a bit more hoppy and bitter than fresh. I prefer Kupper’s, which is cleaner and ever so slightly fruitier. Still, not a bad brew--definitely preferable to most German lagers/pilsners. SSSteve (2090), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 19, 2005 Sampled from bottle. Pours brilliant yellow-gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is grassy and strikingly sour - much like a poorly made adjunct-laden lager. Uugh. Flavor is balanced as you might anticipate, with a small dose of grassy hops. No fruit from yeast detected. Somewhat bitter and unbalanced. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Pass on this one. Perhaps it’s better in Koln? No doubt this style of beer travels poorly. sneagrams3 (1759), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 14, 2005 500ml Bottle. Light and golden in the glass. White head loses itself immediately. Still good amount of effervescense bubbling to the top. Yeasty, hop, floral nose. Sweet hop flavor with a little dryness. Easy drinking with a subtle kick. Rolling over the tongue, sweet and delicious. Certain floral notes linger. I truly enjoy this style, but this is the first with a Cologne origin. The Germans don’t often dabble in ales, but when they do...Delicious! Dextolen (151), Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2005 Bottle. Poured a gold/yellow with a decent white head. Faint aroma of hops, not much else in the nose other than a clean smell I can’t describe. Flavors true to the style, mild sweetness, a little bit of fruit. Refreshing!
