Very mild aroma with mushroom hints and some acid sourness. Some sourish maltiness in the dryish flavor. Light to medium-bodied palate with quite low carbonation. A quite plain brew with little difference from typical acidic lagers. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA

Its a light yellow color that is fairly transparent. I got some really weird lemon square cookie thing from it. Blah, dammit shag, this was not good. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

A big lemony and hay wiffer up in your nose. Very acidic beer full of lemos and maybe bananas? This is BradPear type crap I dont care for. Overall it was decent. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 24, 2005 bright and clear golden yellow color with lots of fizz streamers. rocky/fluffy white head that is tall but goes quickly. no lacing. aroma is lager-like, yes, grassy and wet hay. also honeyish malty aroma. carbonation is high, mouthfeel starts very watery and thin. flavor starts dry and bitter but not too hoppy. also a little sweet/spicy maltiness, a little pear juice. flavor finishes a little metallic, a little dry/tart and lemony. Smells like a lager. Bready, cooked vegetable aroma. Body is thin and carbonation is lively. A bit spicy, at least it’s not adjunct laden, but the cardboard malt taste is unwelcome. Not bad, but not enjoyable. This is the first Kolsch I’ve tried. I’m not impressed with the style. bluevegie (2204), Perth, Australia
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jul 7, 2005 Clear light golden body with an average size white head. Fresh aroma of mown grass and also pine. Nice roundness in the body from the malt and then comes the hops, although not over the top, citrus and pears. This went down a treat but probably would be a tad better with a little more bitterness and body. Probably could drink quite a few of these in a session but could also get easily bored with them. Malty aroma with biscuits and fruits (apricots, grapefruits). Slight sweet flavour, malty taste, crisp hoppy finish with a soft bitterness. A well made Kölsch.
