It is deep golden with a medium white head steadily shrinking to a permanent thin top and a hint of lace. The aroma si full-bodied grain, hay, honey, apple peels, some fruit, especially grapes, bread, a hint of banana. The taste is crisp, clean, a little dry but full, lively, and interesting. It has bread, lemon, hay, apple, honey. It’s nice with a light tartness.. jokazi (8), Sarasota, Florida, USA does not count | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 17, 2005 One of the Best Kolsch! Good news - although definitely not the most easy to find, it is available also as the bottled version. The flip side is the US price, which is usually at least 3$ (tends to be 5$ though!). Get it in the Summer, refrigerate properly, and open while watching your favorite game. Prepare 5 bottles per person. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA

Aromas of hay, malt, grass and meadow. Flavor is a complex melange of hops (but not bitter), herbs, and hay, with just a hint of malt and barley. Wonderful with a ham sandwich. Elegantly malty, crisp and clean, this is the best in style I've found in the US. Makes me yearn for those "hot" summer days in Germany. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA
