JoeinUccle (746), Brussels, Belgium Feb 27, 2008 Possibly the most characterful beer I found in Portugal. Interesting, anyway. Sweet, malty nose is only slightly smoky. It’s an amber, sweetish lager with some malty, boozy depth. It has a sweet bitterness but carries malty flavor into the aftertaste. omhper (11033), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 19, 2007 Draught at República da Cerveja, Lisbon. Deep golden, small but firm head. Heavily smokey nose with beechwood and bacon. Medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. The sweetness hides the alcohol well. Low bitterness. Sweetness & smoke combines like an American BBQ sauce. An interesting seasonal of this faux-brewpub.
