Commercial Description:
Despite the name, this is a lager. Nice and easy drinking style.

Drinkable and far better than the completely undrinkable pilsener, this is still a pretty bad brew.

375ml bottle. Bright gold colour with a moderate white head, well carbonated. Bland aroma, not pleasant at all. Soapy aftertaste with a metallic finish that is quite bad.

Clear golden coloured body with a light orange tint and a frothy, soapy white head. Aroma of pale malt, sweet fruits, oranges and a light cardboardy type scent. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour, not harsh nor bitter, but showing some light sweetness. Aftertaste shows more sweetness, a touch of malt and a very dry, subtle watery taste. Definitely not a bitter - but this has been listed many times before. I sampled this 375 mL can, purchased from a Duty Free store in Sydney Airport on the way out of town on 27-July-2008, sampled at home in Washington on 10-February-2009.

(Can 37,5 cl) Clear, deep golden with a rough, white head leaving some laces. Aroma of brewing cereal. Thin and watery body with accents of brewing cereal and perhaps a tiny bit of malt. Basically no bitterness. Bitter? No. Beer? Hardly. 240108

(375 ml can, gift from a friend in Australia) Golden color, lasting white head. Sweet thin scent with some canned corn. Sweet malty taste, slightly metallic. Sweet aftertaste. Low bitterness. Medium body and normal co2-level.

Bright orange colour with firm white head. Sweet malty aroma, weak watery flavour but mild bitterness. Typical mass produced Aussie swill, nothing special

This offering from Carlton pours a maize yellow leaving a thin spotchy white lace. The nose is sweet, white sugar, also somewhat chemical in nature. The taste starts bitter with a faint hop presence with a weak, watery, highly carbonated body. Definatly a crisp lager with a slight aftertaste in the finish. Not my "cup of tea" but decent for the style. This is the third offering from the "beer down under" 6 pack. I was very disappointed that this brewery uses the term "bitters" in the titles of their beer and it is a macro lager.
