HansJM (358), Norway Feb 15, 2005 Amber, big head, strong, sweet nose. Big body. Caramel with some burned notes. A rich beer, well balanced. Smooth. Long aftertaste of good hops and alcohol. motelpogo (4360), Plzen, Czech Republic Nov 26, 2002 rich deep amber. full sweet malt manages not to be sticky. slight peach schnapps aroma. but quite drinkable and smooth and tasty. there are so many bad bocks out there that just being drinkable is a big plus Gr0ve (1136), Oslo, Norway Dec 29, 2006 500 ml bottle. Orange golden colour. Clear with a medium-sized white head. Nutty sweet malty aroma. Very clean. Distinct, but still gentle, bitterness. Mellow maltiness. Caramel. Sweet flavours, but not that sweet as the hop bitterness balances most of it out. Finishes mostly bitter, but from low alpha acid hops. Nothing special, but a nice easy-drinking bock. MoritzF (4046), Ruhrpott, Germany May 22, 2006 (bottle) Clear deep golden to copper colour with a mid-sized yellow foam. Moderately sweet malty and slightly toasty aroma with honey. Sweet flavour, medium to full body, smooth carbonation. Strong malty body with honey and light notes of caramel; sweet and quite lasting malty finish with shy hints of flowery hops and well-integrated alcohol. Not that complex but quaffable Bock. Many thanks to EithCubes for this one ! EithCubes (1902), Indiana, USA Feb 3, 2006 Bottled. Explosion of malt aroma. Copper pour with eggshell head. Full-bodied and medicinal. Smooth, roasty, tasty, and sweet. Alcohol is well-hidden but my throat is still warm. Runs the risk of being cloying, backs off slightly and settles on an exemplary, sticky Bock sweetness. Can’t drink too much of the stuff, but a good one.
