clear dark brown, huge creamy beige head, drippy lace, dry chocolate aroma with light hops and a bit of astrengent soapy character, lots of bitter flavor up front followed by rich dry chocolate, lots of the earthy character blends well with the dry chocolate but offers no real character, too bland

Chestnut brown. Toasty, chocolatey aroma with light alcohol fumes. Fairly full body. Hints of demerara and dates. Late astringent bitterness.

(22oz bottle) Enormous beige head, the foam works its way up the bottle for quite a while, but the pour eventually reveals a clear brown body, nice lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, nut, roast, some root beer, chocolate/Nutella, light coffee, earthy. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, nut, some earthy, roast. Medium body, light acidity.

(Bottle) Pours a brown (mahogany highlights) body with a large beige head. Aroma of chocolate, citrus, earthiness, and a hint of sour grapes. Flavor of toasted malt, grapefruit, hops, and a touch of fennel with a somewhat bitter finish.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye: Pours a dark mahogany with ruby hues and a frothy, nicely-lacing dark tan head. Aroma has some fresh, toasty earthy, roasty notes with a hint of smoke. Body starts slightly sweet, over-carbonated and pretty roasty with lots of earthy malts. Drier, slightly more bitter finish has a touch of bittersweet chocolate in the distance.

Bottle... Murky, prune juice-colored ale with a large, rocky, khaki head. Incredible retention and ink-blot lacework. Malty, nutty aroma with gobs of caramel, a pat of butter and very rich, beyond creamy, milk chocolate. Malty, sweet flavor with plenty more caramel, chocolate and mild, earthy hops. Full-bodied with a 2%-milk mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Bitter-sweet, chocolaty finish. Cheers to xnoxhatex for shipping me the bottle!

Thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing this rare gem. Dark brown beer with a ruby tint and a light brown/tan head. Sweet chocolatey aroma, some spicy clove and cardamom behind caramel, butterscotch and a sweet toastiness. Earthy hops with lots of heavy resinousness. There is a touch of astringency on the back. Woody finish. Decent brew.

Dark brown pour with a nice looking creamy head, almost nitro-looking out of the bottle, creamy and foamy. Toasted sugared bread, maple and some light nuts, sweet and hoppy as well. Coarse and muddled up front, starts as sweet grains and dough, rough, then turns a bit lactic with a soggy sourness. Seems a bit of a mess overall, can’t be sweet, can’t be hoppy, rather sits between and goes nowhere... I’m not really into the chocolate hop flavors going on here... ok at best.
