As noted this foamed over ... a lot... then while drinking the first glass and the bottle half full... I looked over and there was a 3 inch tall column of foam sticking out of the top. Pours a dark murky chestnut brown with a huge sudsy rootbeer-float-like foam on top. A bit of oxidation in the aroma, expected, hoppy, sweet light brown sugar. A very sweet brew, maple and pineapple, light brown sugar, lightly burnt and just a hint of coffee. The oxidation plays nicely against the sweetness. I’ve got some pulled pork bbq going in the kitchen and I can’t wait to pair it!

Ditto, Vac. Aged over a year, but as soon as this one hit the glass it fizzed like mentos being dropped in a Coke. Very obnoxious with it’s carbonation to say the least. Appears like a thick cider with sandy colored foam everywhere. Loaded with cinnamon and green apple on the nose that compete with hazelnut, vanilla, caramel, and (I swear) cream of tartar in the flavor. Improves as it warms, but still a very strange brew.

Holy Carbonation Batman! This beer was crazy with it’s carbonation. it took me half an hour to pour two glasses from teh bomber. The craziest part was that it was fine sitting there after I openned it, but as soon as I actually started to pour it went crazy IN THE BOTTLE...only foam would come out for like 5 minutes. Anyway, it pours with a deep brown body topped by a huge, foamy, tan head (duh) that actually disappeared pretty quickly when it comes down to it. A lot of lacing was left on the glass, too. It’s malty with a slight roasty note as well as a hint of coffee and a nice sweet cream note. Medium bodied and slightly tingly from the carbonation.

Deep rich brown all that was an honor to Pete’s wicked recipe. Grassy, earthy, nutty notes. Lots of hops and a decent amount of hops. A little chocolaty. Finished nutty. Good!

From a 22 oz bottle that has sat in the beer cellar for a while this turned out to be a gusher. Upon popping the cap a big foam plug rose up out of the bottle. When I picked up the bottle to pour it went off like a volcano spewing about 10 oz onto the table. When carefully poured the remaining beer was almost all foam and all I had was a big glass of rocky head. After about 5 minutes it settled down to a inch of so and I could start to taste the beer. First the nose which was caramel malts and citrus hops. Nice rich mouthfeel, and light chocolate malts and grassy hops, leading to a nice bitter finish. Shame to only have 12 ounces left to drink after almost half of it flowed on to the table, but the money goes to a good cause and what beer was left was good.
