Medium palate. Some lettuce and caramel malt. One of the better "specialty grain" beers I have had. dchmela (772), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 3, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours a dark amber brown color with a thin off white head. Spicy rye malt aroma. Taste is smooth and malty with good use of the rye and caraway. Spicy slightly bitter aftertaste. Decent bee. KAggie97 (1918), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Oct 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours a decent but nothing-special amber with an aroma of pure malt, much like what one smells when on the malt part of a beer tour. Flavor is a soured, red wine hybrid malt beverage that is not unlike other similar beers. Average palate. This beer is par for the course; I want a birdie.. or a bogey, depending on my mood. MatSciGuy (236), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Sep 27, 2008 [Bottle] shared by skyview. Pours a deep caramelly brown with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet malt and an odd lettuce character in there. Herbal finish, earthy, odd bitter finish, sweet malt.
