SuperDave70 (831), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 11, 2008 Clear amber pour with a foamy head. Aroma of toasted rye bread. Flavor is lightly sweet, with caramel and brown sugar. Then the grain and rye come through. Just a touch of alcohol and hops on the finish. Interesting brew. CharlesDarwin (1413), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 10, 2008 22oz Bottles. Settled bread-like nose, with a light punch of caraway. Some Black Russian Bagel in there for sure. Pours a vibrantly clear red-brown, with a thin rim in off-white. Flavor is relatively mild. A gentle sway of brown sugar, toasted pumpernickel, malt sugars, bright alcohols and a faint cast of hops on the backend. Sweet, but some of the spicy sharpness from the rye and the alcohol balances. A nice west-coast hop character draws finish. Respectable. Thanks much Sean!
