pilsnerrogge (1637), Finspång, Sweden Nov 20, 2008 [BOTTLED] Pours nut brown with a dense head. Malty, somewhat sour, bready aroma. Flavour is malty with notes of toffee, cocoa and dark berries. Finish is bitter and somewhat metallic. OleR (1442), Oslo, Norway Oct 27, 2008 500 ml bottle. Clear, dark amber to copper colored. Thin beige head quickly fading to a filmy layer of foam. Light roasted, nutty malt aroma. A whiff of earthy hops, caramel and dried dark fruits. Medium sweet malt flavor. Dark fruits and earthy hops again, also some peppery notes with a touch of berries and sour bread. Quite light-bodied. Sourish-malty, failntly bitter ending. Gusgus (144), Tanumshede, Sweden Oct 26, 2008 Bottle. Pale amber color, thin head. Fresh malty aroma with some fruit and spice. Toasted bread, some vegetables, plum. Some phenolics, reminding of a belgian ale. Slightly spicy and floral hops. Clean, dry, malty taste, biscuity and bready. Clean and dry hoppy finish. Overall clean, dry, malty with slight bitter finish.
