[500ml bottle from Tesco Haverfordwest] Black with russet hints and a slight cream head. Loads of chocolate and brown sugar, with some coffee and smoke in there too. Slightly sticky and metallic aftertaste detracts from what is otherwise an excellent mild.

cask @ london drinker 07. Deep mahogany, no head. Roasted malts and chestnuts in the nose. Smokey flavour. Tastes like bbq ribs. I’ve been vegetarian for some time, but the Texan in me remembers ribs and there is a beer that tastes like ribs! Wait. Is it vegetarian?

Cask at the GBBF 2008. Black colour, reddish brown in the highlights. Distinctly roasty aroma with notes of tar, liquorice and wood. Roasty flavour with notes of coffee, but fairly light bodied.
