Svesse (1676), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 23, 2008 (Cask at GBBF, 6 Aug 2008) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate and liquorice. Roasted, malty taste with coffee, cocoa, dark bread and raisins. Medium bitterness in the finish. Rather thin body, but lots of flavours. An excellent mild. Sigmund (1926), Hafrsfjord, Norway Aug 20, 2008 Cask at the GBBF 2008. Black colour, reddish brown in the highlights. Distinctly roasty aroma with notes of tar, liquorice and wood. Deep brown ... light smokey roast malts ... deep woody again lighty smoked roast malts. Skinnyviking (2622), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 17, 2008 Cask. Low but lasting fluffy off-white had. Pitch black body. Sweet coffee aroma. Mild creamy and round coffee flavor. Low carbonation, long aftertaste. Pretty tasty. oh6gdx (5857), Vaasa, Finland Aug 16, 2008 Cask@GBBF2008. Deep amber colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is coffee, dark fruits, roasted malts, some chocolate and mild notes of earth. Flavour is roasted malts, dark dry fruits and some mild notes of coffee and chocolate.
