Commercial Description:
This recipe is meant to replicate a Belgian Abbey-style ale. Tart from the Belgian yeast but malty and sweet from the addition of rock candy sugar. Reddish brown in color.

(Sample Date: 3/14/2009 Source:Richbrau Brewery) At the brewery. 7.7% ABV. Tastes hotter than that. Lightly spicy and sour aroma. Slightly cloudy amber brown with small white head. Spicy with a lot of caramel and a touch of graininess. Finish is sweet slightly sour, peppery, and a bit hot.

On tap at the brewpub on 03/14/2009. Slightly hazy deep amber body with slight ruby highlights. Somewhat tart and fruit aroma. Farily tart fruity flavor with light belgian spices. Medium body with moderate carbonation. 6/3/5/2/10 - 2.6 On tap at the brewpub on 02/23/2009. Clear reddish amber body with a medium creamy off-white head and some sticky lacing. Sweet sugary fruit aroma with some light belgian spice. Slightly tart fruit flavor with lots of sugar and some light belgian spice. Medium body with moderately low carbonation but somewhat alcoholic. 7/3/6/3/13 - 3.2

Sampled on draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy orange copper color with a medium head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus, toffee and earthy malts. Taste is very tart with earthy and toffee notes. Full bodied.
