Oct 11, 2003 Copper body with creamy beige head. Aroma is sticky sweet malty, caramel, cherry. Taste is sweet, grapefruit bitter, caramel, some earthy. Medium-full body (but a trifle light for a barleywine).

Feb 16, 2007 Bottle. Another sweet US barleywine. Probably a little too sweet for me. caramelly sweetness from the malt, piney, fruity hop notes. With alcoholic warmth at the end. Probably a little too much for me in terms of the sweetness, but ther is some nice flavours.

Sep 12, 2006 No head left; hazy dark-red/brown beer. American hops, chocolate cake, and a bit of piney resins. Hoppy, chocolate, vinous but nowhere distinctive. A stereotypic American Barley Wine tastewise. Alcoholburn, malt overload, fusels, dry finish. If you’re looking for anything BUT discreet, there’s a starter. Then go to 3 Floyds Dreadnaught.

Sep 10, 2006 Bottled, LCRBM. Pleasant and strong malty, fruity aroma. Hazy, brown color, small off-white head, fair lace. Sweet, fruity and lots of hops. A heavy beer yet still very drinkable.
