VA Homebrewer (525), Portsmouth, Virginia, USA Jan 19, 2004 Norton is dead-on when he calls this their most flavorful brew. Very cloudy yellow-orange color with minimal head. Spicy nose with coriander and hops dominating. Malty, spicy and dry through the flavor profile. Appears to be sortof a wit/tripel hybrid. Certainly not the best in the world, but rather enjoyable nonetheless. Norton (292), The Fan, Richmond, Virginia, USA Dec 29, 2003 Updated: Dec 30, 2003Draft. Muddy eggplanty-orangish hue; limited off-white head. Zippy carbonation. Heavy drinker; very filling. Citrusy malt aroma. Flavor reminds me of prune juice with hops. One of the more flavorful brews available @ Richbrau, they're calling this "Christmas Ale" on the chalkboard there currently. jeffc666 (1821), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Dec 18, 2003 Slightly hazy amber. Aroma is that of a Tripel but not nearly as complex. The flavor is very one-dimensional. Tastes like what I would imagine a Belgian Tripel food flavoring would taste like, if such thing were made. Overall flavors fall flat. Body is medium and just kind of there. argo0 (6335), Washington DC, USA Dec 18, 2003 Light-hazy amber body with beige head. Aroma is light, medium sweet, orange, coriander (kind of strikes me as a Tripel-light). Taste is disappointing -- some coriander, but not much else, a kind of undifferentiated mess. Medium body.
