CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 13, 2007 Sampled on 7/15/06 at the RBSG ’06 Grand Tasting out of a growler: Pours a transparent, mostly still, copper mahogany with a thin ring of white bubbles. Aroma is rich, sweet and caramely with lots of toffee complexity. Body starts sweet and viscous with some light fruity complexity and lots of alcoholic notes. A decent English-style barleywine, but could hide the alcohol much better. BückDich (4559), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 3, 2006 RBSG 2006 - DC Grand Tasting Lineup
Ruby, nice head and lacing. Nose of sweet caramel and molasses. The flavor is sweet. Nice hop balance along with the grassy herbal finish. Nice. No idea what this was when I had it. Ha. argo0 (6231), Washington DC, USA Sep 4, 2006 Clear copper body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet mild(!), caramel. Taste is sweet, caramel, light plum, some alcohol. Sticky full body with low carbonation. Numenor (818), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 27, 2006 Great reugy-brown body without any real head. Good taste, though somewhat cardboardy. Good sweet and hot ending. Malty-barley aroma.
