Had this on tap at the brewpub. This appeared a lighter black color with about a half-inch of tan head that sat there for a while. Plenty of lacing was left around the glass as I drank this. Aroma was of dark chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor was similar with a roasty chocolate taste being the strongest and a nice coffee flavor as well. A good amount of bittering to it and it has a nice dry roasted lingering after taste. Mouthfeel was creamy with about a medium body. Drinkability was pretty good as I had about 4 of these. Overall a good example of the style and the best beer they had when I was there in my opinion.

Nov 20, 2008 Bottle courtesy of dkachur/ Pours brown with a thin white head. Smells earthy with some mellow chocolatey hints. Tastes tarte with some malty hints. Not very good.

Jul 21, 2008 <i>Bottle, #388</i> Dark red pour, one of the lighter porters around, with a small head. Somewhat light aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Same with flavor. Pretty enjoyable overall.

Jun 18, 2008 Brown pour with small brown head from brewpub. Nutty, malty, with some caramel notes. Medium thin body, malty cloying finish. I do love the label though.

Bottle from the brewpub opened 4/30/08. Ruby color with a small head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and dirt. Taste is a bit metallic, with chocolate and mocha. 6/4/7/3/14 /3.4
