Soft roasty malts, light coffee, and some cocoa in the aroma. Taste is roasted malt, soft, sweet dark chocolate, cocoa and bitter coffee. Body is soft, creamy and smooth. Slight lingering bitterness. Updated on 06/17/2008. On cask at the brewpub, mistakenly referred to as a summertime chocolate stout by the waitstaff, but the brewer informed me of the correct brew. Clear dark cherry black body with a medium creamy tan head. Dry chocolate aroma with hints of anise. More light anise and a dry chocolate finish. Medium light body with moderately low carbonation.
