Nice to see the historical Richbrau brand has returned after being lost for over 30 years. JK (2944), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Jul 6, 2007 RBSG 07. This is a solid hefeweizen. The aroma has banana, and more than usual. Flavor has light wheat, citrus, and a little more banana. Well balanced. Proper, cloudy appearance but no visible sediment. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jun 28, 2007 Sampled at the RBSG 07 Grand Tasting. Cloady orange bod on this light yhellow pour. Sweet banana flavor with some light caramel in the background. Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Aug 3, 2005 A pleasant surprise. Hazy lemon yellow, slight head. Nice aroma of lemon and cloves. Grainy wheat flavor gives way to a slightly sour, quenching beer with some nice phenols going on, clove, lemon, and slight banana. This was a really nice hefe. BuckNaked (1204), Tempe, Arizona, USA Jun 26, 2005 Draught @ Old Dominion Beer Festival 2005: Very cloudy, opaque yellow with a medium frothy white head that lasts. I was pretty excited to see that they definitely were not filtering this one. Aroma has banana, clove, bubblegum, sweet fruity yeast. They definitely didn’t hold back with the yeast on this one, and I like them for it. Taste is light banana & clove, with sweet but not cloying wheat, and has generous helpings of yeast. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, rich & creamy texture. This was one of my favorites at the festival, though it seems many other ratebeerians and also my friend disagree with me, it may be that I was just so excited to see an unfiltered Hefe in a sea of pale ales. hopscotch (5437), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 26, 2005 Draft at Old Dominion Beer Festival 2005... Very murky, yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma and flavor are filled with banana and clove. Well-balanced and extra light-bodied. Watery mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. Not very good, even for a hefeweizen.
