Draft at Old Dominion Beer Festival 2005... Very murky, yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma and flavor are filled with banana and clove. Well-balanced and extra light-bodied. Watery mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. Not very good, even for a hefeweizen.

Sampled at the RBSG ’07 Grand Tasting. Pours a cloudy golden yellow brew with an average white head. Aroma of light wheat, yeast, strong banana esters, and a touch of citrus zest. Taste is medium bodied, dry with some clove and banana in the background. Finish is slightly dry and good balance of yeast and malt. Nice to see the historical Richbrau brand has returned after being lost for over 30 years.

Lightly aroma'd with little activity but a good hazy feel. It's light and lemony, and I couldn't discern any yeastiness. This was more like a fruit beer to me, with a big sour finish.

RBSG 07. This is a solid hefeweizen. The aroma has banana, and more than usual. Flavor has light wheat, citrus, and a little more banana. Well balanced. Proper, cloudy appearance but no visible sediment.

AWESOME! Silky smooth with a milkshake-like consistency... w/just the right amount of everything. Excellent banana & clove flavors too! I was impressed... and surprised that they’d brew such a ’big’ Hefe. Fairly strong (you can’t really taste the alcohol - but you can feel it), which is uncommon with Hefeweizens, but who cares - I loved it. This beer is what I’d call a ’full-bodied’ wheat beer.

Cloudy orange body with a small creamy white head. Sweet banana aroma. Sweet banana flavor with some light caramel in the background.
