RBSG 2007: Poured a copper color with a white head. Aroma, bready malts and some citrus hops. Flavor, caramel up front, with a nice citrus and floral bitterness to it. Pretty solid.

Approximately 1.5 oz. sample at the Grand Tasting of the RateBeer Summer Gathering 2007 in the Twin Cities, MN on July 23, 2007. This was the fourth of 26 beers that I sampled and rated during the tasting. Poured out of a growler. Thanks to maniac for this one. Powerful, very hoppy but not dry (in fact quite sweet) aroma. Apricot and apple crisp scents. Very nice smell. Pours a golden / light amber with a small amount of near white head. The flavor is along the lines of the aroma but much more subdued. Classicly dry hoppy taste, contrasting with the fruit hoppiness of the aroma. Also a hoppy bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body.

RBSG 2007 Grand Tasting

Citrus and Pine tree hop aroma. Smooth flavor. A little under-carbonated but still a decent brew. Thanks to the Virginia guys (Immy or Maniac) for bringing this growler.

RBSG 07 Grand Tasting beer #6 (can’t locate #5 just yet...). Light brown color with hop nose (citrus). Hops in the body but faint and bitter.

RBSG 2007. Copper color with no head. Nice grapefruit and orange aroma. Oddly enough, the taste does not reflect the lovely aroma. Watery and bitter malt dominate the flavors.

Honey orange-gold colour, lasting thin white head. Aroma is hoppy with citrus and pine. Somewhat spicy hops flavour, perfectly acceptable.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear amber with a small off white head. Smooth, citrusy grapefruit nose. More grapefruit and some caramel in the flavor, lightly herbal. Pretty well balanced. Excellent lace.
