jasonp (1446), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Oct 28, 2007 Sampled at Capitol City Carnival. Clear copper with a white head. Faint nose of caramel and a hint of noble hops. Flavor is lightly malty with some toastiness, light bread - ends with some notes of grass. Medium bodied, smooth texture and moderate carbonation. TheBeerLover (1013), DC Metro Area, USA Oct 21, 2007 Sampled this one on draught at the Capitol City Carnival 2007. Pours to a deep amber color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a good carbonation. The nose is excellent, with lots of good toasty and nutty malt aromas. The palate is firm, and clean, with good nutty and toasty malt flavor, on a round, clean, body. This beer finishes with more good toast and nuts up front, then ends with just the right amount of herbal hop bitterness to balance out the great malt flavors of this beer. Well done, local example of marzen. Well worth trying if you ever find yourself in Richmond during Oktoberfest season. Aurelius (2507), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 20, 2007 Mild, sweet malty aroma with light toast. Almost clear, pretty dark rusty color. Thin, sparse head. A little toasty, a little cereal sweetness, very lightly tart. Medium body. Biscuity in the high palate and finish. Dry-bitter. Decent, just unremarkable. starfireming (309), Richmond, Virginia, USA Oct 9, 2006 Ruby amber colour, bubbly off-white head.
