phukktifano (159), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 6, 2009 Honey gold with thin white head and decent lacing. Aroma was sweet cereal, honey and earth. Taste was a bit of spice, grain and alcohol. jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Jan 21, 2009 Amber coloured body with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of fresh english hops with a very mild maltiness. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong nutty flavour with english hops and alcohol coming out most. Overall, a decent beer - perhaps too strong at first, but it settles nice. I sampled this six ounce sample from pseudo-draught at the Old Dominion 2005 Beer Festival on 24-June-2005 in Ashburn, Virginia. Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Nov 18, 2008 Bottle courtesy of dkachur. Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of caramel, citrus, earthy, roses, light spice. Tastes earthy and lightly bitter with some sage and citrus. Great al around beer. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Jul 29, 2008 Bottle, #397 Copper pour with a small head. Earthy and malty aroma and flavor. Pretty decent brew. MaltDawg (778), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jul 6, 2008 Off taps at brewery. Hazy amber golden. Slight aroma of carmelized malts with a touch of earthy hops. Quite fruity yeast charater with good shot of earthy hop bitterness on top of pale grainey malt sweetness. Medium body and weel carbonated. Finish is moderately dry with some lingering bitterness. SRM about 14. dkachur (2318), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jun 13, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Hazy, dark pour with medium head and subtle lacing. Grainy and slightly bitter aroma. Hops make a bit more of an appearance in the pleasantly bitter taste. Not much going on here.
