Some biscuity malts and grassy hops. Faint diacetyl. Very strange start to the flavor—diacetyl and, if you can believe it, phenols. Not very good until the hops come in at the end, giving the beer a pleasant, lightly bitter finish. Not much going on, and most of what is, ain’t supposed to be.

Aroma is mild and inoffensive, but there just not much to smell. I can get a hint of earthy/grassy hops and a bit of sweet caramel malt if I just about stick my nose into the beer. Taste is earthy mildly sweet malt with faint hops hidden in there. Light bodied, highly carbonated, crisp. hopscotch (5549), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Other than the appearance this was an average pale ale. hurleymanvw (101), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 13, 2004 Pours a bronze body with a small white head. Aroma is sweetned malts blended with toffee and hops. The taste is nicely hopped with some pleasant malt sweetness to balance it out. Pretty much a standard English Pale Ale but is nicely done. Mouthfeel is relatively smooth. The finish is slightly bitter due to the hop character. Pretty decent beer.
