i was a bit surprised at the lack of hops. it wasn't as bitter as i've come to expect pale ales to be but at the same time it was everything else i've come to like of pale ales. this is my first EPA tho, so maybe i'm not used to the style. good stuff tho

Bottle courtesy of dkachur. Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of caramel, citrus, earthy, roses, light spice. Tastes earthy and lightly bitter with some sage and citrus. Great al around beer.

Old Nick Pale Ale-on tap-pours a white head that laces and gold color. Aroma is medium malt-some sweet. Taste is medium malt-some sweet, medium hops-bitterness. Balanced. Nice easy drinking. OK carbonation. 3.7

Medium brown with a bit of orange, OK head. Aroma had toffee oriented English malts as the focus, pleasant. A slight berry flavor is almost immediately overwhelmed by balanced mouth of malt, with good caramel and toffee flavors and a hint of earth on the finish. This is by far the best this beer has been in years, cheers to the current brewer at Richbrau.

Clear copper with a head that laces nicely. Light toasted bread and a faint bit of caramel. Moderate hop bite in finish. Good session beer. Quality, but won’t wear out the palate or its welcome.
