Commercial Description:
The Scotch Ale is reddish-brown in color with spicy malt notes and a delicate hop balance. The sweet finish is this beer style's trademark. The Scotch Ale was brewed with eleven different malt varieties.

on tap-pours an off white head and slightly hazy reddish brown color. Aroma is sweet medium malt, vanilla. Taste is scotch. OK carbonation.

5th Richmond Gathering, the 5th beer into the crawl before I hit my first new rate. Medium amber, slight head. Light caramel aroma. Flavor was a bit of caramel, a bit of butterscotch, and faint hop presence that expresses itself just barely as dusty earth. Not bad.

On tap at the brewpub. Amber with a ring of white for a head. Light buttery nose, sweet caramel. Flavors of caramel and light earth. Sweet finish. Seems light for the style, but pretty good.

Tap: Pours a hazy chestnut color with a tan head that does not have good retention or lacing. The flavor is of alcohol. That is about it a little unbalanced malt and hops with a huge cutting alcohol flavor. It was hard to finish this beer. The alcohol content of this beer was something around 8% if I remember correctly.

Very hazy brown body with hints of red and a lovely tan head. Complex malt aroma with caramel and a little metallic scent. Lovely balanced mouthfeel, somewhat smoky malt flavour with alcohol.
