Commercial Description:
Our Winter Warmer is a strong and sweet brown ale hopped with English hops. Unfiltered with a subtle raisin flavor imparted by the roasted barley malt.

Draft at Richbrau. Methinks this should not have been on as it seemed a bit past its prime. Small tan head atop a coppery body. Nose is caramel and fruit with an odd "twang" to it. Perhaps like the beginning of infection or perhaps tainted draft lines. Taste is nutty with caramel, slightly malty and a decent fruity backbone. Body seemed a bit thin with light carbonation. Ended with more fruit, caramel and chewy malts. The "twang" subsided a bit here but it still affected the beer and my rating.

Richmond Gathering. Ruby with no head. Raisiny caramel nose, a bit boozy, somehow comes across as thin. Nutty fruit flavors, a bit more of the raisin, kinda flat. Eh. I still liked it, but this might have been a bit old.

On tap at brewpub as part of the 6th Richmond Gathering. Medium towards dark amber, no head. Aroma of faint dark fruit, very slight twang. Flavor pretty much matches, just not a lot to it. Faint tea note. Might be going off a bit.

On tap at brewpub. Bronze colored. Strong malty aroma of caramel and maybe a little tobacco. Smells like an old ale. Taste is the same with some bitterness also present. Nice thick and chewy texture.

Hazy copper body with a medium creamy light brown head. Sweet earthy malt with some dry fruit and slight vinuous aroma. Dry earthy flavor, some more fruit, spice and vinuous character. Medium full body with low carbonation and a dry finish.
