I actually wasn’t really impressed with this brew. The amount of sediment build-up was a tad too much for me and I found the flavour to be quite bland for a witbier. If you want the real thing, spend the extra dollar and get your self a case of Hoegaarden instead. You’ll thank yourself later.

Served at a steakhouse in Vancouver’s suburbs, with an orange slice of all things. No real head, hazy yellow colour, okay aroma but nothing too interesting. Great thirst-quenching taste with fruitiness and some citrus notes. An above average hefeweizen.

After I got over making fun of this and got down to rating it was actually pretty decent. The smell has only a slight maltiness, nothing too much and missing the heavyness of a real wit. It really does look the business, very hazy, cloudy, quite pale and a good head. There is a complex orangy taste initially but after the malt wears off midpalate there is nothing there to support the rest of it. If you didn’t drink REAL beer this would seem like it was great, but there is NO bottom end. It needs some hops or alcohal or SOMETHING

12oz bottle. Clear yellow pour with a medium white head. Sweet malt nose with yeast and lemon. Malty flavor with orange and lemon and a weak finish.

cloudy, orange appearance. slight head. aroma is strong citrus - maybe artificial? also strong citrus in taste. For a macro, it does an ok job of following style.

Pours a crisp golden yellow. Aroma is wheat and citrus. Flavour is citrus, orange and yeast. Better than Rickard’s Honey Brown, but not Red.

Considering it is brewed by Molson this is surprisingly decent, probably their best beer. It is at least closer to being a real witbier than most of their other beers are to the style they are labelled with. Make no mistake this is not one of the better witbiers on the market but it is at least something enjoyable to drink which I can not say about many Molson products. In comparison to the better witbiers it is a bit thin but there is a definite taste of wheat and citrus. To be honest I have tasted worse microbrew witbiers than this. As a mass production brewery if Molson could at least raise the level of their other beers to this standard I would have a little more respect for them.

Pint at Skol Bar in Toronto, hazy blonde with expected white foamy head. Aromas sweet wheat malt, some orange. Taste only hints of orange zest and spice, with an overall dull pale wheat malt presence, moderate body, very light lemon hops. Nothing like the Blue Moon I once tried.

Everyone’s jumping on the Hoey bandwagon. Well, I can say that this is OK, no where near to how good Hoegaarden is, but it’s nice to have on tap when they’re not much else to choose from. Pours like a White white a bright translucent yellow with a fast-fade head. Typical aroma of citrus and spices... kind of faint though. The taste is a little bit light, but refreshing at least. More emphasis on the citrus taste and not quite as balanced as a white should be.
