"Winter Ale". Ridgeway produce two versions of Bad Elf "Winter Ale" - one at 4.5%, and the other at 6%. There is a separate listing for the 4.5%.
Olde England meets the New World in this strong, warming golden ale, brewed by Peter Scholey. Master brewer for the late and much-lamented Brakspear Brewery of Henley-on-Thames, England, Peter started his own brewing operations in 2003. Bad Elf is a hop-lover’s dream, balancing a generous amount of famous English malt with an astounding 45 ounces of fresh hops – including American Cascade – per barrel.

copper orange pour with a thin white head. aroma is sweet...brown sugar, caramel malt, hoppy spices and pine. tastes the same with a nice spicy bitterness of dried herbs on the finish and aftertaste. medium body and carbonation.

Pours a dark gold, very clear, with a small but persistent white head. Aroma is crystal malt, with subtle butterscotch and hints of earthy yeastiness, all mingling with rustic British hops. Flavor is strong caramel upfront, balanced with a pleasant hoppy bite, and with some distinct but pleasant butterscotch in the background. Finish is very clean, with a hoppy aftertaste leaving you wanting more. Alcohol is strong, but blends well and is not at all unpleasant. Overall, a very well balanced beer.

Not much head, little Brussels lace. A decent overall flavor, though not outstanding given that it is a winter seasonal. Slightly more hoppy in balance over the malts. Made me fart nasty though. Watch out.

Half-liter bottle. Slight whiff of hops yields to standard grainy beer smell. Pours gold with a tinge of amber in the center, and a big head that turns to sponge and leaves lace as it drains. Taste is fine. Not quite the hop bomb they describe, but this is an English brew. However, the malts are mighty nice. Still a bit of graininess, but quite crisp and, well, "light," with a slight honey character. A few more hops come up later on, with a definite American character. A better showcase for English malt than for its hops. Bought from Whole Foods.

quasi ambrata buona schiuma sentori luppolati e di malto in bocca buon corpo malto e decisamente luppolata con diverse qualità che rendono la birra bilanciata

bottle poured a golden in color with a thin layer of head on the beer and decent carbination that fades off. aroma is on the lighter side, hops, mild sweet fruit, malt, and citrus. flavor is better than the smell leads on, lighter in body, good hops and fruit, great malt and hops balance, and extremely drinkable. citrus comes off more as it warms, malt body carries the flavors well, could really slurp a few of these down. going against the crowd on this one.

Pours bright amber into an English pint. White head recedes to hug rim. Malty aromas. Creamy caramel upfront with a lasting mild hop finish.

liquorloft tallahassee. surprisingly clear amber pour much like the other 2 elves. aroma holds pine and citrus hop on top of some light malt. taste is much the same, the piney hop taste carries through the light malt, light spices with a short lasted bitterness. thin to medium body.
