"Winter Ale". Ridgeway produce two versions of Bad Elf "Winter Ale" - one at 4.5%, and the other at 6%. There is a separate listing for the 4.5%.
Olde England meets the New World in this strong, warming golden ale, brewed by Peter Scholey. Master brewer for the late and much-lamented Brakspear Brewery of Henley-on-Thames, England, Peter started his own brewing operations in 2003. Bad Elf is a hop-lover’s dream, balancing a generous amount of famous English malt with an astounding 45 ounces of fresh hops – including American Cascade – per barrel.

Bottle: Darker gold pour with a smaller white head and very little lacing. Aroma was mostly malt with some floral bitters. Taste is clean, but not very itense. Some malt sweetness with a floral hops tail. Very basic, very mediocre, and not exciting at all.

The aroma has pine hops, butter, caramel, yeast, and tasted malt. The appearance is tan/orange with a typically small head for the style. The flavor is sweet and very much like aroma. The palate is typical for the style.

11 oz bottle via Malt of The Earth Beer Club. Pours a clear amber with a small white head. Nose is mostly just toasted grains. Taste is mostly toasted grains, ginger, allspice and some earthy hops. Thin body. Don’t really care for this one much.

Aroma was sweet and good. Some malt and sugar. Color was gold; a little dark. Flavor was of citrus, malt and some hops. Easy drinking, but not very complex and flavorful.

Bottle from BevMo. Slightly sweet hoppy aroma, somewhat piney. A little caramel amltiness too. Flavor is like an extra hoppy esb or something like that. Finish is a little hoppy and bitter. Smooth creamy mouthfeel.

Bottle- pours out a nice light brownish style ale color. Good head(malty), tan, bubbly. Smell is off and on. Cinnamon, brown sugar, and nutmeg. Once it gets warmer the taste evolves.
