| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 8, 2007 Honestly, I was expecting a gimick after noticing the elf theme (four winter seasonals with the same nomenclature?) Pours a beautiful amber, fairly clear with a good head. The aroma is hoppy, not in an over-the-top way, but in complexity it’s hard to beat. There’s American citrus, hearth and herbal and something a little fruitier like currants, but all from the hops. Underneath that is a caramel maltiness. The flavor is slightly watery, but I’m still really enjoying this beer. Much better than expected. bobaidan (370), Farmington, Connecticut, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 6, 2007 Medium amber pour with a good sized head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is cascade hops and malt. Flavor matches the aroma. A hop bitterness is present in the finish. Not a complex brew, but much better than I was expecting based on some reviews here. alebrewer (122), Mentor, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2007 Smelled the Cascade hops immediately then looked to find if they were indeed used. Aroma is very enticing with sweet, hoppy, spicy and a little bubble gum notes. Color was a nice brilliant light amber. Nice head retention. Flavor was malty with a nicely balanced bitterness. I thought this would be a gimmicky beer but found it to be a diamond in the rough. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 1, 2007 I’ve seen this beer hundreds of times and never bought it becuase I knew it was supposed to be bad. Turns out it’s not that bad. malty and slightly hoppy with piney flavor i think. jrob21 (1279), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 1, 2007 So I saw these in the store and was sold by the labels and names of the brews. Unfotunately, they spent more money on marketing than they did on figuring out how to make interesting beers. This one was very reminiscient of the seriously bad elf I had last night just without the overly alcoholic flavors and aromas. Reminded me of a watered down amber style beer. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 1, 2007 Bottle: Darker gold pour with a smaller white head and very little lacing. Aroma was mostly malt with some floral bitters. Taste is clean, but not very itense. Some malt sweetness with a floral hops tail. Very basic, very mediocre, and not exciting at all. nick76 (2694), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 31, 2006 The aroma has pine hops, butter, caramel, yeast, and tasted malt. The appearance is tan/orange with a typically small head for the style. The flavor is sweet and very much like aroma. The palate is typical for the style. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 29, 2006 11 oz bottle via Malt of The Earth Beer Club. Pours a clear amber with a small white head. Nose is mostly just toasted grains. Taste is mostly toasted grains, ginger, allspice and some earthy hops. Thin body. Don’t really care for this one much.
